Epoxy and Polyaspartic Basics
What is the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic?
We install polyurea-epoxy hybrid systems sealed with a polyaspartic topcoat. We are trained in all three technologies — polyaspartic, epoxy, and polyurea — and we adjust the system based on your specific project, surface, and conditions. The result is a floor engineered for your exact situation, not a one-size-fits-all product off a shelf.
Why do some garage floors peel and fail?
The number one cause of floor failure is skipping or cutting corners on surface preparation — specifically not diamond grinding. Acid etching does not create the mechanical profile needed for a permanent bond. Every Ozarks Concrete Coatings install starts with full diamond grinding. No exceptions, ever.
How long does a polyaspartic floor last?
With full diamond grinding prep and professional-grade polyaspartic coatings, expect a lifetime. Our system is backed by a written lifetime warranty against fading, peeling, and yellowing.
Is the floor slippery when wet?
Our full flake system creates a textured, slip-resistant surface that provides better wet traction than bare concrete. Smooth systems can include anti-slip additives on request.
Can hot tires damage a polyaspartic floor?
No. That is one of the key advantages of polyaspartic over standard epoxy. Our system is hot-tire resistant. Standard epoxy is prone to hot tire pickup, which is why so many cheap installs fail.
Installation Process
What is diamond grinding and why does it matter?
Diamond grinding uses a specialized machine to mechanically abrade the concrete surface. This removes existing coatings, oils, and imperfections while creating the microscopic profile needed for maximum adhesion. It is the single most important step in a lasting floor — and the step most cheap installers skip.
Do you repair cracks before coating?
Yes. All cracks, control joints, and surface damage are filled and leveled before any coating is applied. We fix problems — we don't coat over them.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installations are complete in one day. Some larger jobs may take 1.5 to 2 days. We give you an accurate timeline at your free quote appointment.
How soon can I walk and drive on my new floor?
With our standard topcoat: walk on it 24 hours after we leave, drive on it at 48 hours. With our extra-slow topcoat (which produces an even more seamless finish): walk on it at 48 hours, drive on it at 72 hours. We will tell you exactly which system was used on your floor before we leave.
